Alexander Ludwig
Alexander Ludwig was born the 7th May 1992, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Ludwig, whose early credits include small
roles in MXP: Most Xtreme Primate, the TV movie A Little Thing Called Murder, and
The Sandlot 3, plays the central role of Will Stanton in The Dark Is Rising, a
feature based on the Susan Cooper book franchise of the same name. Will is the seventh
son of a seventh son, and is one of the last of the Old Ones, whose mission is to battle
the Dark, who are led by an evil figure named the Rider
Everyone has always told me that I have a big imagination. I love performing. I started
acting when I was 9. I begged my parents for months, and they kept saying no. They were
worried that young kids who start in the business can get sucked into a life that isn't
reality. But they finally let me do it. They've been so supportive. Doing a film is a
dream come true.
He's not the only actor in the family. Ludwig has twin siblings (a boy and a girl)
and a younger sister, and they're all involved in the acting world. The two girls,
he says, just got their first commercial.
Alexander lives with his family in Vancouver Canada. When he is not traveling the world,
you will find him either on the slopes of Whistler pursuing his love of extreme skiing
or on the beaches of California seeking the perfect wave to surf.
Alexander most recently appeared in the film Race to Witch Mountain playing the role of
'Tony' it also stars Dwayne Johnson and AnnaSophia Robb.
Lionsgate has announced that the final two tributes have been cast for The Hunger Games,
with Alexander Ludwig and Isabelle Fuhrman joining the cast. They will play the
pivotal District 2 tributes Cato and Clove.
