Mini-Biography

Carter Jenkins was born on Septermber 4th 1991 in Tampa, Florida. His interest in acting began at the age of 7, in a Tampa area community theatre. His parents believed that local theatre would pacify his need to perform…they couldn't have been more wrong. Instead, Carter grew to love acting even more and instantly knew that this is what he wanted to do with his life. At the end of one of his performances, a local talent agent approached Carter and his parents and his road to stardom began. Almost immediately, Carter booked several local and national commercials.

After attending a workshop in Tampa hosted by a Los Angeles based talent manager, Carter and his mother decided to take a trip to Hollywood. In July 2002, they packed their bags and headed west in search of Carter's dream. Shortly after their arrival, Carter was signed to an agent and the town was only to happy to have him. It became quite clear to the rest of the family that this is the ideal place for Carter, so they packed up and joined the duo in Los Angeles. Given Carter's track record, it was smart move.

When the remake of Bad News Bears was announced, Carter thought it was almost too good to be true --- both of his passions could be taken advantage of for one project. Oscar nominee Greg Kinear plays Carter's dad and team coach. "Filming BAD NEWS BEARS was like playing every day - it was not work," states Carter. "I had the best time working with Greg." Immediately after the movie wrapped, NBC came along and cast Carter in Surface a sci-fi drama set in San Diego. Carter, starred as Miles, the intelligent, curious teen who discovers this new form of sea life and has no idea what disaster is waiting for him.

Prior to his work on Surface, Carter had a recurring role on Nickelodeon's Unfabulous, and guest starred on Lost, CSI New York, Everwood, Oliver Beene, The Bernie Mac Show, Scrubs, Punk'd, Run of the House, JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, and Without a Trace. he also starred in the Disney Channel tv movie Life is Ruff. Carter also played "Young Dex" in Think Tank and as "Zachary" in Keeping Up with the Steins. Other recent tv guest roles were in The 4400, CSI Miami and House M.D. Carter recent TV work was playing Jack Holden on the short lived series Viva Laughlin. He can be seen next in the 2008 film A Day's Work as 'Zack' and for 2009 watch for him in They Came from Upstairs.
