Mini-Biography
Emily Browning was born in Melbourne, Australia on December 7th 1988 and has appeared in several films and Austarlian television series. Some of here film roles includes Ned Kelly and Darkness Falls as well as the acclaimed miniseries After the Deluge.
Her television feature debut was opposite Judy Davis in 1998's The Echo of Thunder and after that went on to a regular role in the Australian television series High Flyers, she also was a regular in another Australian series Thunderstone, as well as a recurring role as "Hayley Fulton" in several episodes of Blue Heelers. Other work on television includes the miniseries Blonde for CBS based on the best-selling book by Joyce Carol Oates, and the made for television film Halifax f.p: Playing God, winning the Austarlian Film Institute's Young Actor's Award for best performance by a juvenile.
She made her theatrical feature debut in the comedy-drama The Man Who Sued God, and in 2002 she appeared with Gabriel Byrne in Ghost Ship, and went on the following year to appear in the thriller Darkness Falls and the drama Ned Kelly. Her big break came when she was picked for the role of Violet Baudelaire in the fantasy Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events opposite Jim Carey and teen actor Liam Aiken. She also appeared in the brilliant Australian film Stranded as Penny. Emily will also play the role of 'Anna' in the 2009 film The Univited.
