This look at the oldies tonight is "The House on Haunted Hill"  a 1959 American horror film originally shot in black and white. It stars Vincent Price as eccentric millionaire Frederick Loren. Price and his fourth wife Annabelle, have invited five people to the house for a "haunted house" party. All that can stay in the house for one night will earn $10,000 each but as the night goes on they are trapped inside with all kinds of terrors.

Vincent price is right at home in this role and it can be seen in his performance, the film in B&W as we will see is much better in showing the creepy look of the hose and is far more effect than the colorized version which is a bastardization if you ask me.

The creepy start shows the guest arriving as if going to a funeral all in separate funeral cars with a hearse leading the way. The guests are then told rules and each get a .45 caliber pistol for protection.

    Enjoy and comment.

Check out the album of some lobby cards and posters of the film.

If it was hot in black and white then it should always be shown that way, I hate that colorization stuff. Being in color doesn’t make a program good so to not watch something because it is not color is dumb. Some of the best TV show is black and white I got hooked on the old Western “Rawhide” when my dad bought the set and it is all black and white.
