Mini-Biography
Marc John Jefferies was born on the 16th of May 1990 in New York, New York, he played Derrick Mitchell, the older, more introverted son of Tracy and Alicia (Tamala Jones) on The Tracy Morgan Show. Born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, Jefferies had his first on-camera job at just three-weeks of age in an American Express commercial for which his father was the director of photography. After his early television debut, Jefferies worked as a fit model for various designers, appeared in numerous commercials and, at age 4, had his big break on the big screen in the film Losing Isaiah, in which he portrayed the young child whom Halle Berry and Jessica Lange both claim as their son.
After receiving rave reviews for his performance in Losing Isaiah, Jefferies went on to earn guest-starring and recurring roles in Homicide: Life on the Street, Trinity, NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Third Watch, along with Cosby, Guiding Light, The Practice, and Family Law. Jefferies also can be heard in Bill Cosby’s animated children’s series Fatherhood as the voice of Roy Bindlebeep.
Jefferies’ feature-film career continues to flourish as well. He has appeared in the movie The Haunted Mansion with Eddie Murphy. He did voice work in Finding Nemo and appeared in Charles Angels: Full Throttle, and Brown Sugar with Taye Diggs and Stuart Little 2, with Michael J. Fox and Geena Davis. Marc had a small role as Amazed Kid in the blockbuster Spider-Man 2. He appeared for 2006 in Keeping Up with the Steins as Tim and Whitepaddy as Mikey. He is listed in the cast of Little Hercules in 3-D which is currently filming and he also played "Young Marcus" in Get Rich or Die Tryin' Marc has been cast to play 'Lil Cease' in Notorious (2009) a biopic of rapper Biggie Smalls.
In addition to his acting career, Jefferies enjoys doing impersonations and stand-up comedy, he was also the youngest performer to appear at Hollywood’s The Laugh Factory. He also was the spokesperson for the internet service People PC. When not working in Los Angeles, Jefferies resides with his family in New York City, where his mother is a teacher. He is a proud big brother to his younger brother and sister, and enjoys traveling with his family and collecting cars.
