Mini-Biography
Born on the 13th of July 1990 in Los Angeles, California, Matt Weinberg started acting at the age of 8. A family friend convinced Weinberg's parents that their son had great potential and introduced them to a children's agent. He soon landed the lead role in the independent film, Spooky House opposite Academy Award-winners Ben Kingsley and Mercedes Ruehl.
A student at a Los Angeles public school, Weinberg has been busy in both television and film. He starred in Lifetime's adaptation of Wendy Wasserstein's An American Daughter, as the son of Christine Lahti and Tom Skerritt, and later worked with legendary star Maureen O'Hara in the television movie The Last Dance. He co-starred on Friends as a talented young actor who shows-up Joey Tribbiani when they audition together for a soup commercial. Weinberg was twice nominated for the prestigious "Young Artist Award" for his performances in Friends and An American Daughter. His performance in The Last Dance earned him a CAMIE Award (Character And Morality In Entertainment). Weinberg landed the highly sought-after role as "Eli" in Eli's Theory opposite Edward Asner.
Weinberg also appeared as the cross-dressing 10-year-old brother of star Rob Schneider's character in The Hot Chick. Weinberg appeared in several other feature films, including the blockbuster hit X-Men, as the 8-year-old version of star Dennis Leary's character, and the independent film, Who's Your Daddy? In addition, he is the voice of Young Simba in the Disney video, The Lion King 1½, and is one of four leads in Joe Dante's 4-D film, R.L. Styne's Haunted Lighthouse. In 2006 he played the role of "Kyle" in the Comedy The Benchwarmers.
His also had a role on the WB sitcom The Okeefes he played the youngest son, Mark O'Keefe, who is envious of his older brother and sister when they begin public school and leave him as the only student in the O'Keefe home-school.
Weinberg currently lives in Los Angeles with his parents, brother and three dogs. When not working, he plays competitive baseball and loves spending time playing with his dogs.
