What is ADR in acting?

I ask since I saw another question about acting was asked, I once saw also an actor here (Nathaniel Pena) said he has to go do some ADR. I add ADR to google I saw nothing that about acting?

    Additional Dialoque Recording its recording additional voice recordings or replacing audio/voice dialoque for film/tv/tape. LOOPING is a similar process but looping the put your scene up on a screen and you go into a sound booth and try to match the movement of your mouth (on film) with a new recording. I just had to do this because of outside interference (planes) with sound equipment.

      So this is to correct poor audio when the scene was filmed?

    Yes its the same process as dubbing in a different language

    Yes to correct bad audio or sometimes to add audio to scenes for an O.S. recording or to add audio to a V.O. spot
