Jacob Tremblay is a Canadian teen actor who was born on October 5, 2006, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He is best known for his incredible performance as Jack in the Golden Globe Award Nominated film Room (2015). The film also has several Oscars and BAFTA nominations. For his performance, Jacob took home the Critics' Choice Award for Best Young Performer.

Jacob began acting in 2010 with several national and international commercials, at the age of five he played the young son of Neil Patrick Harris in "The Smurfs 2." He also appeared uncredited in the feature "Extraterrestrial" before his role in Room. After his performance in that film, it has lead to a prolific feature film career with releases such as "Shut In," "Before I awake", "Burn Your Maps" all in 2016. Jacob has also starred in "The Book of Henry" and "Wonder" for 2017 and  for 2018 he will be seen in The Death and Life of John F. Donovan and "The Predator."  For 2019 "Good Boys" and is rumored for voice work in Untitled Lani Pixels ProjectIt is also reported he has a deal in place to star in the sequel to The Shining expected in 2020.

On TV he has guest-starred on the series, "Motive", (2013) "Mr. Young" (2013) and "The Last Man on Earth" (2016). He also took the time to film the TV movies "My Mother's Future Husband" (2014) and "Funny or Die Presents: Donald Trump's the Art of the Deal: The Movie" (2016). Other TV work includes "Pete the cat" the series and the TV movie Pete the Cat: A Very Groovy Christmas and a guest role on "Animals."

When Jacob is not filming he enjoys learning about reptiles, kickboxing and playing with Legos, he is the younger brother of Emma Tremblay and Older brother of Erica Tremblay.

As the 2016 Red Carpet for the Golden Globes, he mentioned his favorite Star Wars character is Poe Dameron, played by Oscar Isaac. Jacob was a presenter at the 2016 Oscars.
