Biography

Teen actor and dancer Tom Holland was born on 1 June 1996, he lives in Kingston-upon-Thames and is the son of comedian and author Dominic Holland. Tom had attended Donhead Prep School before moving on to Wimbledon College.

Holland was spotted by choreographer Lynne Page while when he performed with his dance school as part of the Richmond Dance Festival in 2006, during this time he was dancing at a hip hop class at a dance School in Wimbledon. Page who was an Associate to the choreographer of Billy Elliot the musical invited him to audition for the show and eight audition later and two years of training, he made his debut 28 June 2008 in Billy Elliot the Musical as Michael, Billy’s best friend and later moved into the title role of Billy on 8 September 2008 to rave reviews.

To mark the fifth anniversary of Billy Elliot the Musical, four current Billy Elliot’s, including Tom Holland, were invited to meet the Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Tom was the choice to be a lead at the special fifth-anniversary show on 31 March 2010.

After Billy Elliot the Musical Tom auditioned for the role of 'Lucas' in the film The Impossible (Watch Trailer), the film stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor and is based on a true story that took place during the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. He followed this up by playing 'Isaac' in the 2013 film How I Live Now which also stars Saoirse Ronan and voice work in  Locke. He also appeared in the TV mini-series "Wolf Hall" as Gregory Cromwell.

His upcoming films include  In the Heart of the Sea  (2015) as Young Nickerson, "The Lost City of Z," "Pilgtimage," "Backcountry" and Captain America: Civil War where he takes on the role of Peter Parker/Spider-man. Holland will continue his role as Spider_man in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" (2017). This will be followed by "The Current War (2017),  (2018) and the as of now Untitled Spider-Man Homecoming: Sequel (2019).
