Zendaya Coleman was born September 1, 1996 in Oakland, California, USA and known for her role of Rocky Blue on Disney's Shake it Up! along with Bella Thorne. Disney Channel describes Rocky Blue as sweet, smart and responsible, a good girl who is sometimes too good for her own good.

Zendaya, means "to give thanks" in the language of Shona, now lives in Los Angeles, California with her family and her dog, named Midnight. She was a part of the California Shakespearean Theatre where she would help out in the theatre and at times get to take part in plays. Before she hit it big with Disney's Shake it Up! Zendaya was a fashion model for stores such as Macy's, Old Navy, Sears, and Mervyn's. she was also a featured performer in the Kidz Bop music video for its cover version of the song Hot n Cold.

Zendaya has also guest starred on the series Good Luck Charlie and A.N.T. Farm and was the voice of 'Fern' in the TV movie Pixie Hollow Games (2011) and played 'Halley Brandon' in the 2012 TV movie Frenemies and as Zoey Stevens in "Zapped" (2014) Zendaya returns to a regular TV series in 2015 when the new Disney series K.C. Undercover debuts, Zendaya plays K.C. Cooper, a high school student training to follow in her parents' footsteps as an undercover spy.

Zendaya attended Oakland School for the Arts, and starred as a young Ti Moune in Once on This Island at the Berkley Playhouse and has a breakout role as the male character Joe in Caroline. She also studied at the Cal Shakes Conservatory program and at the American Conservatory Theater. Some other stage credits include Richard III, Twelfth Night, and As You Like It.

Zendaya has said "If I could have a dancing with the stars partner it would be Michael Jackson, but since I can't any more - sadly - it would be Roshon Fegan." Some other interest includes singing and designing clothes. She hopes that just as theater led her to television, Shake It Up! will lead her to opportunities in the music industry. In October 2010, Zendaya told Variety "I love singing and would love to record an album at some point."
