Signs Are Small Measurable Things, but Interpretations are Illimitable. (SPOILERS)

Well in episode 2 we get to see Gilbert arrive in Trinidad and his discovery of the beautiful tropical West Indies Island. I love the accents and so glad to see Anne's first black character. We get to see Christian's first appearance as Billy as he plays some catch and right off the bat he is being a mean bully. We also get to see the meanness of the teacher Mr. Phillip.

Anne back in Avonlea is also having a wild imagination and seems to have gold fever, one scene she is scared as her imagination runs wild while walking through the forest. Gilbert back on the ships wonders about going back home and if he would ever see Anne again.

A nice episode and we might have an LGBTQ character as I know that is also a topic this season but have to wait and see, Billy is so mean tho.

I love the Trinidad accents and the scenery, I wonder if they actually went to Trinidad to film? yes, Billy is so mean but so cute at the same time. cx

No it was not filmed on location it was filmed at Port Dalhousie where they created the look of Trinidad of that time, I was wondering the same when I first watched it and I checked. Here is the link that talks about it.

Oh, that is great info because I also thought they were really in Trinidad, it is amazing what film crews can do with sets.

These set designers can make it look like you are anyplace in the world, even back in the past as in those scenes depicting old Trinidad.

Ironically, it was really cold on those filming days!  Sunny, but cold!

WOW! I thought it was if not Trinidad then went to Florida or North Carolina something like that, and to top it off it was cold and you have to pretend you are in the warm tropics.

I hate being cold, I doubt I could act warm when it was cold. lol I always wonder the actors are dressed like it is warm and it is freezing and you have to act like you are all nice and warm.
