I never heard of Jared Breeze before I stumbled upon The Boy on Amazon and decided to stream and then was so blown away I purchased it.

Jared carries the film and he does it very convincingly as we watched his waste away in his father’s lonely desert motel. The sheer expanse of nothingness of the scenery helps us share the loneliness of the boy and watch as his progress down the road to mental illness.

As I said I never heard of Jared Breeze before but so good was he even in the many scenes where he did not have any dialogue I am convinced this kid is on his way to good things.

Now many complain that the film is slow and boring but the sheer loneliness of the location and the boy, I feel the slow pace helps to convey that to us the viewer.

I say rent it or own it but see it and watch out for this kid.

The Boy is an excellent film with a standout performance by young  Jared Breeze, utterly believable as the angelic boy with a dark side. Those that say it is slow and boring just don’t know good films, unless there are car chases, endless explosion and super hero cartoon like action sequences a large section of the movie going public lacks the ability to get into a good dramatic film.

See this film, highly recommended, and kudos to this small fan website for exposing good young talent and films to teens.

Just finished watching it after I came on this page added here had no prior knowledge of the fil or the actor. I could feel the isolation seeping through the wide expanse of nothing. I see a 9 year old boy completely enveloped in loneliness, a kid that should be playing with friends or the least an X-Box cleaning rooms in his dads run down desert motel. I felt for him as I see him change beds, scrub and cleaned while his obviously depressed father lounges around.

I felt fear as I see him grow more and more preoccupied with death and dead things, what a job by the young actor.

I am no pro reviewer just see this film and forget the complaints of the slow pace this film is engrossing.

We got it from Google Play and watched it and all watched it, even my bro who is a fan of the loud action flicks. All he say is what a crazy kid. lol.

Well it is low but never boring it draws you to the screen.

I loved it but I loved the performance of Jared Breeze even more. David Morse one of my favs drove me to see this film and Jared Breeze stole it.

The film might be slow but it helps in showing the isolation and loneliness of the boy and the large expanse of nothingness where the dump of a motel is located.

Poor kid works like a little man cleaning rooms, maming beds etc while his dad louges in what looks like depression and booze.

See it rent it or buy.
