Iain Armitage is a child actor who was born on July 15, 2008; he is the son of actor Euan Morton and theater producer Lee Armitage and the grandson of Richard Lee Armitage. From a New York Times article he got his big break agent Jamie Pillet found his Facebook page and asked his parents if he was interested in acting. Iain showed up at the meeting with the agent dressed as the Phantom of the Opera and was signed.

Iain early on made appearances on "The View" (2014) and "Little Big Shots" (2016), he eased into scripted shows with a role on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” with the 2017 episode Chasing Theo. He went on to play Ziggy Chapman on the TV Series “Big Little Lies” (2017).

Iain currently plays the role of Sheldon Cooper on the new series "Young Sheldon" (2017) a prequel to The Big Bang Theory, Armitage plays a 9-year-old version of Sheldon Cooper.

Iain film career kicks off with "The Glass Castle," which stars Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson and Naomi Watts it is based on Jeannette Walls’ memoir. Her book centered on her unconventional upbringing in poverty. Iain also appeared in "I’m Not Here" with J.K. Simmons, as well as "Our Souls At Night," a Netflix movie with Jane Fonda.

Iain Armitage along with his Young Sheldon cast mate McKenna Grace are lending their voices to the upcoming animated movie, "Scoob" they will be voicing the young versions of Shaggy and Daphne, according to THR.

He saw his first stage show when he was three years old, and began posting play reviews and his own renditions of Broadway songs under the name Iain Loves Theatre. Despite all his movie projects, Iain aspires to be a theater actor.
