Karan Brar (born January 18, 1999), is best known for his role as Chirag Gupta in the feature films Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010), Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules (2011) and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days (2012) he also played for four seasons "Ravi Ross" on the Disney Channel comedy series, Jessie.

Karan was born in Redmond, Washington and raised in Seattle. Karan has been acting since the age of 7 and beat Indian-origin kids over a six-month audition process, to win the role of Chirag Gupta. He had to completely learn the Indian accent for his role in that film and now used also in Disney’s comedy series Jessie.

Karan is of Indian and South Asian ancestry and has one older sister. He attended Cedar Wood Elementary School and took acting classes at John Robert Powers. He also attended acting workshops conducted by Patte Kelles.

Karan took the time to offer some advice and encouragement to aspiring artists. “My advice to anyone wanting to get into acting and modeling would be to work hard and do your best. Do not be disheartened by ‘no.’ when you go to auditions, you will hear many ‘no’s’ — but one day, you will hear a ‘yes’!”

Karan also starred in the Video feature Chilly Christmas (2012) as 'Caps' and provides voice work for the animated feature Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014). Karan also guest-starred on the series "Austin & Ally," "Pair of Kings" and did voice work on "Sofia the First." In October 2014 he guest starred on an episode of the series "Lab Rats" as Simon and along with the rest of his Jessie cast on "Ultimate Spider-Man" in the episode Halloween Night at the Museum.

With "Jessie" ending after four seasons in 2015 he along with the rest of the cast minus Cameron Boyce moved to the series "Bunk'd" a spin-off of their Jessie series. Karan also played the role of George for the TV movie "Invisible Sister" which stars Rowan Blanchard.

Karan won the Young Artist Award for the Best Ensemble Cast in Feature Film “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”. The award was shared with fellow cast members Zachary Gordon, Robert Capron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Laine MacNeil, Grayson Russell Devon Bostick and Alex Ferris.
